Measurement A Measure from either the leading or trailing foil edge along the keel line. (You measure from the leading edge of the rudder to the leading edge of the dagger board Vice-versa.) The tape measure should touch the bottom of the hull. Measurement B Measure from either the leading or trailing foil edge from the bottom of the foils. See picture above. Sailor's body weight <90kg the target B-A measurement is 162 mm, . Sailor's body weight 118kg the target B-A measurement is 209 mm. Note: Measurements of A and B may vary between boats, but aim for the B-A= 162 mm - this is your start point. This measurement is tried and tested and works well. Each half turn on the screw adjuster moves the B measurement about 2-3 mm. (If your boat has the pin positions, there are 3 holes therefore six positions. so measure carefully - they do work. However I recommend that you upgrade to the screw adjuster from Full Force Boats for about £40.
MAIN FOIL / DAGGER BOARD The Angle of incidence should be 8.5 degrees. It is really easy to set the daggerboard to this angle just pull the top of the daggerboard backwards in the daggerboard hull slot as far as it will go so that the rear top edge of the daggerboard foil touches the inside rear wall of the slot. Then move the pin brackets to fix the daggerboard in position. Other advice is to reduce the angle of incidence to 6.0 degrees in strong winds (+20 knots). The angle of incidence adjustment is achieved by either moving the pin plates. Make sure the rudder and dagger board fit tightly in their respective structures. Replace the Velcro loops with heavy duty self adhesive Velcro loops.
WAND It is vital that the wand moves the flap the full distance. Foiling is not possible without a working wand. Check lubricate the Teleflex cable, check the elastic tension and check the swing movement moves the flap full distance up and down.
RUDDER FLAP & TWIST CONTROL The flap control needs very small adjustment. Care should be taken not to twist the tiller so far that the ball joint and bell crank detach while sailing. Mark with tape.
